Emily Tramont, ESQ.

BIOGRAPHY OVERVIEW
Emily Tramont is a native of Miami, Florida, and has been practicing civil litigation and personal injury defense since 2016. After earning her law degree from UIC Law School in Chicago, Emily built a diverse defense practice representing insurers, businesses, and individuals in a wide range of litigation matters, including premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, product liability, and general negligence claims.

Throughout her career, Emily has developed extensive experience defending complex liability claims from inception through resolution. Her practice has involved investigating claims, evaluating liability and damages, conducting depositions, managing discovery, and advocating for clients through all stages of litigation. She is known for her strategic approach, attention to detail, and commitment to achieving favorable outcomes for her clients.

After returning to Florida, Emily joined the Scarborough team in May 2026, where she continues her defense practice representing clients in matters involving negligence, premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, and product liability claims.

Outside of the office, Emily is an avid athlete who played collegiate tennis at Wellesley College and competed in tournaments throughout Florida growing up. She continues to compete in USTA tennis leagues and enjoys participating in local recreational soccer and basketball leagues. Emily is also a dedicated animal lover and enjoys spending time with animals and supporting causes related to animal welfare. When she is not practicing law or playing sports, she takes advantage of Florida's beautiful coastline and recently earned her scuba diving certification.

    Matthew C. Scarborough is the managing partner of Scarborough Attorneys At Law which he has operated since its inception in 2001. Mr. Scarborough has exclusively practiced in the Insurance Defense arena for the past 23 years since being admitted to the Florida Bar in 1992. He is a graduate of Stetson University (B.B.A. Marketing, 1989) and the University Of Miami School Of Law (J.D. 1992)

    Originally from Tampa, Florida, Amy Lee joined the firm in 2018. Amy brings to the firm over three years of state and federal court litigation experience. Amy’s insurance defense and coverage experience include defending insurance carriers in commercial and general liability, personal injury, premises liability, negligent security, title insurance, and first-party property matters.

    Chrissy Murchie joined the firm in spring of 2024 with experience in insurance defense for commercial carriers and local government entities.

    Chrissy graduated from Florida State University magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and then received her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law.

    While at Stetson, she was the President of the Tax Law Society and a Stetson Ambassador. She was also a pupil of the Ferguson-White Inn of Court.

    Chrissy has spent time volunteering with VITA and Girls on the Run. She spends her free time enjoying the outdoors or seeing Broadway musicals.

    Stacy Simmons is the Office Manager and Paralegal for Scarborough Attorneys at Law. She graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in history. Additionally, she focuses on maintaining a positive work environment that fosters strong office relationships to encourage employee retention. Stacy is also the main point of contact for client communication and coordinates the firm’s marketing efforts including its continuing education seminars.
